- How Using Mindful Action Can Help You Reach Your Goals and Dreams -


Sometimes while on our healing path, we are so focused on letting go of what has happened to us and practicing presence that we think that looking forward and working toward a goal is egoistic or even detrimental. I am of the opinion that having goals and dreams is fantastic, can help us take positive steps (even leaps and bounds) towards whole health healing and works amazingly with practicing presence.


Mindfulness techniques can be powerful tools to help you move forward positively towards your goals and dreams. Here are some tips on how to incorporate mindfulness into your journey towards success:


Set Your Intentions: Setting intentions mindfully with spirituality involves connecting to your inner self and the universe, allowing you to clarify your desires and goals with intention and purpose. Before you begin taking action towards your goals, take a few moments to reflect on what you truly desire and set your intentions accordingly. I invite you to write them down in a way that feels good to you. This could be through art, doodles along with your writing or cutting out pictures to help you remember. This helps to take something intangible and make it something to work towards while also keeping you focused and motivated towards achieving your dreams.


Stay Present: Here's where presence and goal setting work together so well. When working towards your goals, allowing yourself to stay present and focused on the task at hand can not only help to reduce stress and anxiety, making it easier to stay motivated and move forward towards your goals, it keeps you from becoming overwhelmed by the big picture. We so often focus on the end result of a large goal that ends up seemingly unattainable. When we stay in the present moment and focus on the steps to get there, it is much more manageable.


Cultivate a Positive Mindset: A positive mindset is crucial to success. Focus on the positive aspects of your journey and celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how small. This is especially important on the days where things do not go as planned. When you do not feel like you are progressing. Taking the attitude that even on a rough day, you are going in a positive direction. Focusing on the fact that you are learning and growing can help to keep you motivated to continue moving forward.


Practice Gratitude: Gratitude is a powerful mindfulness technique that can help you stay focused on the positive aspects of your journey or refocus when the journey takes you to a place where you feel a bit off center. Take time each day, (or multiple times a day) to reflect on what you are grateful for and how far you have come. Tell yourself. "I can do this. I AM doing this."


Take Breaks: A key to achieving your goals in a mindful way is about finding balance. Take breaks from your work and engage in self-care activities such as meditation, yoga, or going for a walk. Take as many breaks as you need in ways that serve you best. Remind yourself that this is your time to recharge. By doing this, you help to reduce stress and increase your overall well-being, making it easier to stay focused and motivated towards achieving your dreams.


Mindfulness techniques can be powerful tools to help you achieve your goals and dreams. By setting your intentions, staying present, cultivating a positive mindset, embracing challenges, practicing gratitude, and giving yourself grace by taking breaks, you can move forward positively towards success. Remember that your path is your own. Find what works for you, stay focused on the present moment while celebrating your accomplishments along the way. With dedication and a mindful approach, everything is possible.
